Rolling in the Ruins 2026

For the past six years, we folks on the Breakfast in the Ruins podcast have been mulling over the possibility of a mini RPG con themed around the work of Michael Moorcock and the other authors we’ve talked about since the podcast started in late 2019. We’ve decided that 2026 is the year to kick it off, and we will be having two one-day get-togethers in the function room of the Ginger Goose bar in Bradford, complete with its panoramic view of the magnificent Bradford City Hall..

On June 6th and June 20th, there will be a couple of sessions over the course of each day and up to seven tables accommodating six people (1 x GM and 5 players), and we’ll tell some Moorcock-flavoured stories and roll some dice. Games will be varied, but no doubt will include classics like Stormbringer and more recent systems such as The Black Sword Hack and many others. We’ll also have an evening in the pub to enjoy each other’s company and the following morning record a Breakfast in the Ruins special episode with anyone that sticks around. Games masters will include enthusiastic amateurs like myself, as well as a host of seasoned souls and published game designers.

We might even have a special guest or two.

Player registration will be handled via Warhorn. The event page is prepared and will go live soon, so watch this space. The event also has a dedicated Discord, the details of which can be made available to folks interested in attending. We look forward to gaming with you in Bradford.
